Your Body Needs Magnesium

Well hey there, sugar! Come on in and sit a spell. Let me pour you a tall glass of sweet tea and tell you somethin’ your body’s been itchin’ to hear: you need magnesium like biscuits need gravy.

Now I know it don’t sound glamorous, but magnesium is one of those quiet little heroes workin’ behind the scenes to keep your whole body hummin’ along smooth. From keepin’ your heart tickin’ steady to helpin’ your muscles relax after a long day of carryin’ life’s load.

Trouble is, most folks are runnin’ around low on magnesium and don’t even know it. If you’ve been feelin’ more tired or if ya strugglin’ to keep your nerves calm, magnesium just might be the missing piece of your wellness pie.

So let’s take a stroll through the different types of magnesium, what they do, and which one might just be for you.

Types of Magnesium:

Magnesium Citrate: This form is known for its high absorption rate, makin’ it a good choice for those lookin’ to boost their magnesium levels quickly.

Used for: Occasional constipation, muscle cramps, general magnesium deficiency

Edible? Yes ma’am, often taken in pill or liquid form

Magnesium Glycinate: Gentle on the tummy, this type is often recommended for folks who need to take magnesium long-term without upsettin’ their digestive system.

Used for: Anxiety, poor sleep, tight muscles, and long-term supplementation

Edible? Absolutely and easy on the belly, too

Magnesium Oxide: While it contains a higher amount of magnesium, it’s not absorbed as well as other forms, so it might not be the best pick for everyone.

Used for: Occasional heartburn, headaches, and constipation

Edible? Technically yes, but not the best absorbed a bit like tryin’ to sip syrup through a straw

Magnesium Malate: Magnesium Malate combines magnesium with malic acid, which your body uses to make energy. It’s one of the best choices if you’re draggin’ through your day feelin’ like molasses in January. It’s gentle on the tummy and can help with muscle pain and fatigue without makin’ you drowsy. You can find this in LMNT salts (we only sell them in store)!

Used For: Boostin’ energy levels, Muscle fatigue and soreness (especially helpful for folks with fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue), and Supporting metabolism and cellular energy production

Edible? Yes, ma’am! Just pour some LMNT salts in your beverages.

Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt): Often used in baths, this form can be absorbed through the skin, providin’ relief for sore muscles and stress .

Used for: Sore muscles, stress relief, bath soaks

Edible? Not recommended unless it’s food-grade and directed by a doc this one’s best for soakin’, not snackin’.

Magnesium Chloride (Zechstein Magnesium): Zechstein magnesium is mined from the Zechstein Sea: a prehistoric seabed deep beneath the earth in the Netherlands. Folks love it because it’s exceptionally pure and free from modern contaminants. So if you’re lookin’ for a high-quality, skin-soothing soak or spray, Zechstein is the Cadillac of magnesium chloride. We carry it in flakes and magnesium spray for your bath time bliss.

Used For: Muscle relaxation, magnesium replenishment through the skin, joint support

Edible? No, ma’am this one’s for the skin only unless the label says otherwise (and most don’t)
